Air Gear killed it this week.
The most epic chapter off shounen jump in ages.
AGES I TELL YOU!
But my god- it killed it this week.
Everybody found out the 'brothers' Kaito-Agito/Akita are actually father and son- with the spilt personality of their mom inside the brothers.
I just died trying to process the info into my brain.
Best chapter ever since we found out that Rika was pregnant and Simca is actually close to 30 years old and a shotacon since Ikki is not even 20...
Read it.
Read and love it.

New Season, New Surprises
Maaan~ I still can’t get over how weird this season is :P Other than those two dream/fantasy/chaos series that I talked about last time, most of the others are also kinda weird O_O
Fractale: the setting is some rural/RPG-looking setting in the far future, with some sort of Communist “you get a basic income even if you don’t work” kind of society going on …
Hourou Musuko: a series about middle schoolers who like to crossdress O_O and this series doesn’t take the usual comedy-ecchi approach, but instead takes more of a serious, philosophical approach. Which makes it all the more weird =.=”
Rio Rainbow Gate: a series based on a character from Japanese pachinko machines O_O as expected, based mainly on sex appeal and gambling (Rio is a handler at the gambling place, and is apparently some “Goddess of Victory” because people win big when she’s around – but don’t people winning big detract from the gambling place’s profits? No idea why the owner calls her the “best”)
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: umm, the main character is a guy, and he’s a zombie. He looks normal, but he doesn’t die even when hit by a truck, or sliced in half. And by the end of the first episode, he also becomes a *clears throat* “masou-shoujo.” It is obviously a play on the common “mahou shoujo” (magical girl). With the whole transformation scene and the fluffy outfit with all the laces and ribbons. Definitely weird =.=”
Level E: Aliens. O_O It’s really … weird O_O The main character is supposed to be a high school student, but he totally looks 20+. But he makes good tsukkomis. Otherwise, the whole thing is just weird.
Oniichan no Koto: a little sister loves her big brother to the point of being incestrous. She finds out IN THE FIRST EP that she was adopted, and isn’t blood-related to the family. Instead of being depressed or confused (which is NORMAL), she takes joy in the fact that she can legitimately marry her big brother. This is so crazy that I’m not gonna watch it anymore.
Freezing: GORE! If I had to name another series this is similar to, it’d definitely be Claymore. People screaming after losing limbs and being slashed and blood everywhere, and then being able to grow body parts back O_O But almost all the characters are girls =P
Beelzebub: Man I was looking forward to the anime of this series. Then they screwed it up with a ton of American cartoons-style onomatopoeia and backgrounds. Like, y’know, zigzag backgrounds with solid color. A real disappointment.
Dragon Crisis: seems like the only “normal” series this time. Guy finds a mysterious girl (a dragon, apparently) and has to learn to live with her. Yay for normal shounen mystery/romance =D
Again, I can’t fully express how weird I think this season is. It’s like, waaaay~~ out there. It’s gonna be one interesting season alright =P

~WINTER SEASON~
So. The winter season of anime.
Definitely not impressed at all.
I sped through a few of the names and none of them really interested me.
Level E sounds alright, but the rest of them were a bit. Killjoy.
Starry Sky's new episode 3. Aha xD they shouldn't have made it a harem. Too bad yaoi didn't make it >D
Really.
So much of those secretive little UST/BL moments.
yes.
xD
Half the fangirls are BL fangirls.
And of all my friends, I think all of them are BL fangirls ||D
Anyways.
BACK ON TO TOPIC.
none of them are really interesting.
So I'm probably only following one new anime again this season (Starry Sky) until Level E really does catch my attention or another anime picks up the pace and makes me go WOW 8D

((ANYONE LIKE POKEMON? I'VE BEEN STUCK WITH A POKEMON JUNKIE WHO'S BOUGHT HALF THE POKEMON CENTER. HOWEVER, WISH ME LUCK AS I ENTER THE ANIME SHOP AND SCREAM DOWN THE BUILDING XD))

GOSICK IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude I’ve totally fallen in love with this after the first ep! The music is pretty cool, the animation is nice and crisp, just the way I like it. The directing is brilliant in terms of conveying different atmospheres through usage of different angles/distances that I thought was very well done. But most of all, the characters are so lovable!! Not little-girl-Mahou-Shoujo kind of lovable. The Inspector is a very well thought-out …. Yes, comic relief. Kujo is a guy, but still cute (probably on the level of Honey from Ouran). The cutest of all is Victorique (the anime characters seem to pronounce it more like Victorica though), she’s like, Shinku from Rozen Maiden kind of cute. Doll-like and wise at times, pouty and oh-so-huggable! at times, and SHE PUFFS ON A PIPE LIKE SHE’S SHERLOCK OR SOMETHING kyaaa~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winter '11 Anime Atmosphere
Hey guys, first post of the year from Yuzuru desu~!! And I will talk about …. Of course, the new anime season! Cus I really wanna get it out there: this is one WEIRD season. Y’know, sometimes it’s really quite easy to grasp the overall atmosphere of a season when several series share a similar theme: ex. last season there was Kuragehime and OreImo and KamiShiru, which were all sort of satiric works that reflect the otaku culture. In this season, we have Puella Magi Magica Madoka and Yumekui Merry, both of which are about dreams and chaos and lack of reason. They both feel really …… creepy *shivers.* The only upside is that Kalafina, one of my favorite J-groups, is gonna get a LOT of air time doing the BGMs and ED for Magica Madoka XDD
Puella Magi Magica Madoka’s plot synopsis said “Magical Girl Madoka Magica is an original anime television series to be produced by SHAFT and Aniplex. It will be directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, character designs by Aoki Ume with Takahiro Kishida doing character designs adaptation and screenplay written by Gen Urobuchi. Music will be composed by Yuki Kajiura.” Which basically is not a plot synopsis at all =P But seriously. “Magical Girl” usually refers to kiddy girly stuff with wands and comical enemies and pantsu shots. But this one is way out of the league. The character design is simple and cute, maybe even TOO simple. In contrast, the plot immediately starts off the deep end: the main character gets a warning “if you wish to maintain your lifestyle, never change who you are,” the main character meets a girl that she wanted to help in a dream, but who seems to be after her life IRL, reality distorts itself into random images like the OP animation from Psychic Academy, the “enemies” seem to use some weird language, and a prominent usage of chains in the animation. Well, there still is a “normal” magical girl transformation scene, but still, this series is really creepy. Especially since Kajiura is doing the BGM.
Yumekui Merry’s plot synopsis said “Ten years ago Fujiwara noticed he had a power to see multicolored auras surrounding the person’s body. Ever since then he’s been having a weird dream about a war with cats. Then one day a mysterious girl falls on top of him…” I honestly though, oh, it’s a mix of To Love-ru with Mayoi Neko Overrun or something (btw both of those series are by the same mangaka =D), so I was expecting general average ecchi comedy and stuff. But ~~noooo~~ that’s too normal~~~ so what it turns out to be is a separate dream/town where there is an army of cats acting cool and there are giant floating fish skeletons and a a big buff boss cat that looks stupid and cool fighting scenes. From the little that I’ve seen, it now seems more like Soul Eater-style. Mysterious and creepy and awesome action scenes.
GOSICK, the first ep of which has yet to be aired yet, is sorta similar, based on the manga. It’s also gonna be mysterious and cryptic, but leaning more towards a detective/mysteries sort of plot line.
Still, I’m really taken by surprise by this season’s mood. Never would have imagined it in my wildest dreams. Not sure I like it. Not sure I particularly dislike either, though. Gotta wait and see how everything pans out =D
